Park’s BBQ

The best BBQ short rib I’ve ever had. It was absolutely delicious, even though it looks like a human ribcage in this photograph. It’s so fucking epic, the bone is attached to the meat in a way that the waitress has to roll the meat out like a red carpet…a red carpet of delightfully soft and supple cow beef. Eating it medium with a bit of salt just made my night.
Next on the list is live octopus tentacles. Yeahhhhh yeah.

Komakino

This is me wearing a bunch of expensive shit from Komakino. Thanks Graham for letting us play in the store.
Shooting in Vancouver was crazy…after two weeks of hiatus I am about to head back out on the road for five more days of shooting. Los Angeles is going to be hot and annoying as fuck, and this time I’ll be doing the damn thing on my own.

Shooting in Seattle

Thanks to Ruach from Superfuture for showing me around a bit. He’s the buyer at Blackbird, so you should stop by and say hello.

Sleeping over at JFK airport
I left Toronto at 10 A.M. by car to Buffalo, and waited for a delayed flight to JFK airport. Because of the weather delay, I miss my connecting to San Francisco and ended up sleeping overnight at the shitty Delta terminals. It blew ass. I caught the 8:40 A.M. flight back to San Francisco and spent over 24 hours trying to get back home…just to save myself $300.
I’m not sure if it was worth it.

Toronto playlist

I feel like I should document the collection of songs that I have compulsively listened to many times over while I’ve been here. It’s mind numbingly sobering to listen to this shit while traveling alone. My iPod actually serves a purpose now…
mp3: she & him - sentimental heart
mp3: yeah yeah yeahs - cheated hearts
mp3: in the mood for love soundtrack - aquellos ojos verdes (those green eyes)
mp3: incubus - love hurts
mp3: julie doiron - the wrong guy
mp3: red hot chili peppers - porcelain
mp3: john coltrane - in a sentimental mood

Schwartz’s Deli

$5.20 CAD for a smoked meat sandwich. Take that Katz!!!! The only bust is the mandatory $1.50 side order of pickle, but it tastes better than the hit-or-miss pickles they give you in NYC. The cherry soda is crazy too. Thanks for the recommendation Herman. Hope you didn’t get any mustard on your Dior.

Montréal picnics, cigarettes, and grass

Been spending the past weekend in Montréal with some of the lovely folks on Superfuture. There have been a lot of walking, expensive drinks, amazing food, cab fares, and pathetic French accents (by yours truly). We had a picnic today and ended up passed out on a lawn of grass. My first day off!

Taking pictures while lying down can be difficult, but as you can see I have mastered the art of not actually looking while taking photographs. Ugggggggh.

Mad (h)am, crazy sausage, duck pâté, stinky cheese, and hella baguette action. Someone smoked my last Iranian cigarette. Damn you Maxime!

Maude in Toronto

Maude was nice enough to hang out on her last night in Toronto. We were at some nondescript bar with expensive and watery drinks. She promises Montréal will hold better prospects than this!
Off to do more shooting.
