Kiya’s Sugar Cane slack denim jeans — 6 months

These are the new jeans I’ve been wearing on and off since I got them from Self Edge…except the photos here are of Kiya’s pair. He’s worn them six straight months and machine washed them every two weeks. Always consistent. The Sugar Cane slack denim is a particular 50/50 mix of sugarcane and cotton fibres, making up a loose woven and super slubby 13oz. denim that’s breathable and perfect as a lightweight jean for the summer. It’s a regular cut, so for us skinny folk it’s kind of baggy but I like the new silhouette it gives me. Also, I have an excuse to wear boots.
The denim looks ridiculous.

Self Edge x Flat Head (SEXFH05) Jeans

Last week I had given a sneak peek at the upcoming collaboration jeans from the premier Japanese denim boutique Self Edge. The final details are out:
16 oz. indigo denim and 14.5 oz. black indigo denim, custom leather yo-yo themed patch, military grade olive herringbone pocket lining, Self Edge half-arcs with Flat Head’s signature forked tongue, copper rivets, hidden rivets, and… a custom limited edition Self Edge x Flat Head branded Duncan butterfly yo-yo.
A redesigned cut based off of the infamous Flat Head 3001 jean, this collaboration is by far the most anticipated jean Self Edge has created.
Official price is $335USD and will be sold on April 19th, 2008 in-store at 12:00 PST and online worldwide at 17:00 PST.
Check out the product page for the indigo and black versions.

Self Edge x Flat Head (SExFH05) jeans preview

Self Edge, in collaboration with The Flat Head, presents a preview of the new Self Edge exclusive jean: the SExFH05. 16.5oz indigo denim, the SExFH05 features the familiar and infamous FH3001 silhouette with a stronger taper at the legs and a custom homage–to–yoyo’s leather patch. My favorite detail is the half-arc with the signature Flat Head devil tongue.
They are the slim jean of 2008. And to think this new 16.5oz denim has been formulated by The Flat Head to wear and fade just like my FH3001’s that I’ve worn for over a year.

The Self Edge x Flat Head 05 jeans will be on sale at Self Edge on April 19th, 2008 in-store at 12:00 PST and online at 17:00 PST.

The last photographs taken of my Flat Head 3001 jeans. Worn over a period of 367 days straight, and a total of one year and two months. They are now retired for the time being while up on display at my exhibition.
