NY Times’ Diner’s Journal blog pits two infamous burgers against each other. Corner Bistro vs. Shake Shack.
And that quickness, my burger-savant friends tell me, speaks to a characteristic shortcoming of the Corner Bistro burger: it’s not always cooked to order.
Mine was tender on the inside but had a dull flavor, and was flabby through and through, with no crispness whatsoever on the edges.
I haven’t had the opportunity to try the Corner Bistro burger, but I do know that Shake Shack’s offering is pricey but very fulfilling. It’s not the end all–be all of burgers, but the Shack Stack rules them all—essentially a double-double with an extra patty of deep-fried portobello mushrooms filled with cheese. The ultimate boomtime.
