The holidays have been a little rough; my hard drive crashed overnight and I’ve been stranded and unable to work on my book. Anxiety and nerves were at an all time high, but I was still able to manage a blurry iPhone shot of my jeans in the sun. They’re pretty much deep black in any indoor setting, but underneath high-noon sun, the indigo really comes out.
I’ll be getting back on my feet and trying to update more now that my hard drive has been replaced. Hope everyone had a safe holiday.
Cotton Duck does a detailed look at Mister Freedom’s Mechanic Shirt; it’s chock full of photographs and little insights on various design elements of the garment.
When Self Edge first opened in 2007, I remember getting three items: Flat Head 3001′s, a Flat Head houndstooth shirt, and a Flat Head black chambray. In 2008, Self Edge had a display featuring my senior thesis at NYU; the display had mannequins wearing some of my clothes, including the black chambray shirt. After staying on display for a year, the clothing became completely sun bleached from the front, and here are the results.

One of the more interesting parts that came from this sun bleaching is the collar, pockets, and snaps; opening them reveals a stark contrast from the original color of the chambray.
Samuel’s new blog, Cotton Duck (which is also his moniker), details some pretty cool denim and denim related items. He recently posted up some photographs of his Flat Head mid-length wallet from Self Edge, and I must say it’s looking pretty well aged. It reminds me that I haven’t taken any shots of my mid-length wallet in quite some time. I’ll make a post with updates on it in the near future.
