<p><a href="http://selectism.com/columns/kiyababzani/">Kiya</a> introduced me to <a href="http://myspace.com/omarsouleyman">Omar Souleyman</a> last night. Souleyman is a Syrian singer mixing the traditional styles of dabke dance with live instruments and weird frantic spazzcore keyboard synths.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=106047345&amp;sc=fb&amp;cc=fp">Björk spoke highly of Souleyman during NPR&#8217;s <em>You Must Hear This</em></a><em></em> segment in June of 2009. You&#8217;ll also have to check out this montage video with group dancing; he also makes it rain money near the end of the clip.</p>
